The JKJ Risk Control Department offers assistance with OSHA compliance and it pays off when the visits occur. OSHA preparation prevents accidents and ensures compliance. Over the past 2 months, JKJ has assisted four clients with OSHA visits and informal conference settlements.

The results include:

1/24/14 –VT Food Processing Client – OSHA conducted a full inspection of a client that has worked with JKJ on OSHA compliance . No citations were delivered.

1/24/14 – PA Construction Client – JKJ participated in an OSHA informal conference to discuss a fall protection violation of a sub contractor. The client is very safety conscious, has worked with JKJ on OSHA compliance, and was unaware of the hazard. JKJ and the client successfully reduced the citation from “Serious” to “Other Than Serious” and settled for $1,300.

2/6/14 – PA Medical Device Client – JKJ participated in an OSHA informal conference to discuss HazCom and LOTO citations received as result of an employee complaint. JKJ and the client successfully combined the two citations into one and settled for $3,300 (original fine was $5,600).

2/28/14 – PA Plastics Clients – JKJ participated in an OSHA inspection focused on amputations. The inspection was part of an OSHA local emphasis program. No citations were issued regarding the local emphasis program on amputations. One minor electrical citation is expected as a result of the visit. JKJ will work with the client through the informal conference process.

If you’ve ever been a part of an OSHA visit, you know why JKJ and our clients are celebrating the hard work!
