Resident Transfer Drills

Resident transfer drills are a proven way to reduce employee and resident injuries associated with resident handling and transfer. Resident transfer drills test the success of resident handling and transfer programs in the same way that a fire drill tests an emergency evacuation plan.  Call participants will learn how the drills are staged and conducted.  The resident transfer drill is an excellent tool that can be used to audit your resident handling and transfer program.  The call is most appropriate for genera and nursing management, nurses, caregivers, CNA’s, therapy departments and trainers/ educators. However, anyone who assists people with transfers from chair to bed to toilet, etc. is encouraged to participate.

Presenter:    John Kiefner, Vice President Risk Control, Johnson, Kendall & Johnson
