JKJ Passion with a Purpose with the Trenton Soup Kitchen

On Friday, November 3rd , JKJ colleagues, Joanne Barbaro, Holly Rivera, Carrie Dominic, Amanda Gross and Gam Rivera had the pleasure of serving lunch at the Trenton Soup Kitchen for our JKJ Passion With a Purpose Day.

Our team, along with several other volunteers and staff served 200+ men, women and children. This was such a rewarding experience for us – not only to give back to the community, but to see firsthand the hard work and dedication that goes into serving the less fortunate on a daily basis through that kitchen. It also served as a great reminder of how blessed we all are.

We cannot wait to do it again next year!

Due to the sensitive nature of what we were doing we were limited to one group picture after the kitchen closed.

The Starfinder Foundation is a nonprofit in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia that mentors underserved youth from all over the city via soccer, education, and leadership training. It was a blast getting to better know their staff and to hear about both the awesome work they presently do for the community, and also some neat things happening in the near future. We even had time for a game afterwards with their staff!
