Professional Liability

This policy protects you against financial losses from lawsuits filed against you by your clients, for professional services performed negligently or not performed at all.

As a 'professional', you are expected to have extensive technical knowledge or training in your particular area of expertise. You are also expected to perform the services for which you were hired, according to the standards of conduct in your profession. If you fail to use the degree of skill expected of you, then you can be held responsible in a court of law for any harm you cause to another person or business.

When this liability is limited to acts of negligence, professional liability insurance is called errors and omissions liability.
